Local space history
Anapa
is lying in the north of the Black Sea coast where steppes Taman
peninsula merged into the edge of the Big Caucasus.
Area
of Anapa was first inhabited in epoch paleolith and since then,
people did not leave these places. Aboriginals of North Caucasian
coast of Black sea were persian speaking meoths tribes: синды, meoths,
kerketes, torets etc. which are ancestors of modern Caucasian people.
In
VII century BC in place of modern Anapa meoths tribes put up settlement
- port Sindica harbour. In VI BC Greek colonists descended on the
Black Sea coast of Caucasus, and in 486 BC they established a powerful
ancient state - Bospor Empire. It is supposed that in 380 BC Sindica
joinsthe Empire, gets name Gorgippia and becomes one of the largest
cities of Bospor Empire. In Gorgippia succeeded various crafts stimulating
brisk trade. The city minted its own coin. Gorgippia was a gateway
of well-known " Silk way ".

The
history of industrial viniculture in Anapa starts in the middle
of 19 century. The process was inspirated by general D.V.Pilenko.
In 1868 in his family farm "Khan - Chokrak" (the Golden spring)
he has planted the first vineyards in Anapa area on 0,2 ha
(0,49 acres) of grades Risling and Portuguiser. Wines had
excellent flavouring qualities and were awarded with a gold
medal at the All-Russia exhibition in N. Novgorod
